ROW80: Add Deal Website Launched

So begins another late check in from me, and I really can say that this week I really haven’t had the time to really do anything other than work and code on the main Add Deal website.  The website was finally launched on Friday the 18th May 2012 with the view to continue to develop the website over the coming few weeks and months.

So what else has been going on apart from coding??  Well not much else to report as yet…I have been carrying on with the blogging side of my ROW80 and in fact the Blogging side of things has really taken off.  I have been doing a lot of other different tasks including meeting the Riviera Centre to talk to them about something really new.

I am currently in the process of organising and arranging Torbay’s first official Baby and Toddler Show for 2013 and I also have plans to arrange more in the way of Baby Shows, services and products…

Anyway let’s get on with this weeks check in, as always you can find a copy of all of my initial goals in the dedicated ROW80 category, you can also find a copy of all of my check ins to date in there.

ROW80: Flyers and T-Shirts

Wow!! If the last check in was anything to go by you would all be forgiven for thinking that I wasn’t actually making any progress on any of these ROW80 goals or indeed had any intention to do so.  However, this week has been an exceptionally busy week and has seen a lot of progress both on the ROW80 goals and on the overall development of Add Deal.

This week a few bits and bobs we’re decided on, these included how green I wanted the business to be, how I could make the business greener, the design for the flyer, the design for the t-shirt and of course the first Boost that could see a local county being taken out of recession…(mind boggling huh?)

I would like to say that this week even for myself has been unusually busy with more and more blog posts planned, more business opportunities planned and of course more publicity planned for the entire Add Deal concept.

Let’s get down to this weeks check in.

As always you can find a copy of my latest check ins by clicking here, you will also be able to find a copy of my initial goals in the category as well.

Also, just quickly, you will now see that my ROW80 posts are being written in the 1st person mode rather than using “we” or “our”.

Open University

I finally got the letters and financial documents in the post this week and I should here back from them in due course.  I’m pretty excited about the whole concept I must admit and with the start of my first module just a couple of weeks away I think it will certainly be something I will enjoy doing.

Onwards and Upwards to becoming a BSc Computing and Psychology professional or should that be student??  :D.

Autobiography

Nothing new to report here and unfortunately this goal is being dropped from ROW80 on the grounds that I just don’t have the time at the moment to carry out this goal.

So from Sunday the 6th May 2012 this goal will no longer feature on my ROW80 list.

Dietry/Exercise

Nothing new to report as yet, I’m currently approaching 160 bicep curls… which tends to be a good fun task to get rid of that excess andrenaline at the end of the day.

Other

E-mail: All e-mails are their respective folder and I have kept on top of e-mails both ingoing and outgoing.

Music: No new music this week either.

Hobby: Nothing new to report here as yet.

Films: No new films as yet, although I did record the Hulk on the Virgin Media Tivo box.. time will tell when I get round to watching that.

TV Series: No new TV Series this week either

So overall this week I have had an excellent week , with lots going on and lots more still to do.  After this blog post I will be launching another post entitled changes to the goals as I am in a position to introduce some new goals certainly on the business side as well as on the blogging frontier.

Don’t forget to keep track of all of those ROW80 goals and check ins by visiting the dedicated ROW80 category.  You will also be able to find a copy of my initial goals in there.

Add Deal Babies App – Coming Soon

One of the main ambitions of Add Deal Babies is to provide a more shared and connected network.  The concept, therefore, is to design and develop a new and exclusive mobile app for those who use the Android operating system.  The objective of course is to provide you with the ability to scan QR codes with the latest deals and offers in your local area and then to share these deals with your friends.

The mobile app doesn’t just share the information with Facebook and Twitter, that’s just too obvious, our app also communicates with our website so that the deal you see in the shop goes straight onto the website and shares this deal with all of the other people in your local area and causes them to approach the business for that same offer.

The Add Deal Babies app is being put into production at the end of this week and we will be keeping you all up to date on the latest developments with this application.

iPhone Development??

Of course we haven’t forgotten about our users who make use of Apple’s most popular mobile phone device, the iPhone.  We will also be making allowances for the development of an iPhone application in the coming months.  However, our primary aim to begin with is to get people using the application through Android.

Further applications will also be planned for the future and we also intend to have both Facebook and Twitter integration with our apps.

Introducing the Mirror.me Image

Ok so this week, we said we would be reporting and doing a lot more in the way of branding and social media, the first part of this is of course using a website called Mirror.me to see how we’re getting on with our tweets… i.e. what we’re tweeting about the most… so without further a do… below you will see a copy of this weeks Mirror.me image… – we will be doing one of these every week from here on.

#ROW80 Goals for Round One 2012

As we’re sure some of you are aware we haven’t been doing much blogging over here of late and there is only real one reason for that which is we simply forgot all about our little blog we started when Add Deal was just a couple of domain names on a piece of paper.

We said we would find a use for the blog and we have, we’re going to use it as a place where we can increase user awareness of the overall concept of Add Deal as well as what it does, who we are and a whole host of other money-saving ideas and ways in which you can get involved with the Add Deal project.

So we’ve joined ROW80, no we’re not going to row 80 kilometers up river to prove a point, although this cold be amusing.  ROW80 is the name given to a blogging challenge that runs 3 times a year, in essence its a challenge that understand that us bloggers do actually have a life away from the computer screen.  You can sign-up for the ROW80 challenge over on the official web page.  We will also be following the hashtag, #ROW80 on twitter as well as becoming an active member in the Facebook Group and we hope we will be able to contribute to the whole challenge.

Now given that this is our first attempt at the ROW80 challenge we’re going to follow the crowd a little bit and pick it up from there.

So without further a do let’s get started on writing those all important goals.

  2. Guest Posts – we’re looking to get our articles on a wide range of blogs
  3. Pages – keep them up to date… – about page needs completing

  1. At least 30 minutes of exercise to be carried out daily, whether that is through the Wii or from general exercising.
  2. Join an Akido class – blog about it
Photography
  1. Get hold of a decent digital camera – we must say that taking pictures on the mobile phones just isn’t cutting it anymore..
  2. Take a few pictures with the new digital camera and blog about them
Other

  4. TV Shows – find a new series to watch :D
We’re confident we have missed a few things out.. however, considering this is our first ROW80 challenge, we’re not doing too bad.
Right, so with this in mind we had best be off and start making headway on completing these goals…
What are your goals for this round??
