Open University – Access Granted

As some of you may know we’re looking to start making our way back to University whether that is full time or part time whilst still being able to look for work.  The Open University allows us to do just that, we have since started looking at some of the modules that are available to us.

Since the start of writing this article last week we have completed the process of being able to access the Student Home area as well as choosing the degree that we want to study.  This degree will be entitled BSc Computing and Psychology, we like the concept of working with computers and we also want to know what makes one of the powerful computers in the world work, the brain – hence the psychology.

So with this in mind we have now started the process of enrolling on our Computing and Psychology modules.  First up is Psychology in May this year, this module also known as: DSE141: Discovering Psychology and the second module starts in September known as: MU123 Discovering Mathematics.

So overall we’re on a voyage of discovering into the realms of both computing and psychology.  At present we are looking to complete our financial forms this week and start our first module in May 2012.

More on this soon.

The Initial Enquiry

So today is the day that I started making progress on my way back to University.  After giving it all some careful consideration we have decided that possibly looking into the Open University will be a good idea.  The main reason for this is because it gives us the opportunity to be able to study at our own pace, with deadlines, and also means that we will be able to spend time on our other areas of interest and our main project, Add Deal.

With this in mind, I decided that I would send the Open University an e-mail to find out how we go about getting everything set up to be able to start the process of registration and studying at the OU.  As of yet we are still waiting for a reply from the OU, however, we are sure that over the next couple of days we should have heard from them.

Last night I registered for an account on the OU website, so some progress has started.

We’re looking forward to the potential of going back to studying at University and also the fact that it gives us the ability to plan our studying around our other commitments, both business and personal.
