So we have come to the end of the week and another check in is needed, now for those of you who have not read my Wednesday check in you won’t know much about the good news relating to us passing our driving exam on the 1st February 2012. So we’re really quite pleased with this and in fact this weekend we have been up to Vospers Ford to order our new Ford Fiesta Titanium.
So there we have it we are now fully mobile and we’re ready to start exploring all of what this country has to offer, that said we haven’t been stuck in the house for almost 24 years waiting for this moment to start exploring. Anyway, that is the first bit of good news for the week, there is of course more good news we have to tell you about.
A new washing machine is on its way here and we’re all set to move on the 17th February 2012 – don’t even ask how we managed to find all the funds needed to enable us to move. We’ve also found sometime to spend on our main business project, Add Deal as well as our academic commitments at the Open University – some interesting developments here too.
Anyway let’s get down to some detail and take a look at all the different bits we’ve achieved, haven’t achieved etc.
Make sure you have read our initial goals first as well as had a look at our dedicated ROW80 category.
Blogging
Let’s take a look:
- Blog at least 10 times a week: This week we have achieved the full 10 blog posts that we were looking for, we’re quite happy with this although this does include check ins – this week we should be doing more blogging.
- Guest Blog Posts: Our blog post entitled, Recession, Yes We Said it!! Has gone live over on a fellow WordPress user and of course you can always take a look at the article by clicking here.
- Pages: We are pleased to say that our Terms and Conditions as well as our Privacy Policy pages have now been updated and are currently online, be sure you have a look at the new legal jargon. Next job is the FaQ page.
- Comments:Not much comments thus far, however, we will be spending sometime commenting on peoples blog posts before Wednesday.
Work
We’ve been thinking about this and have come to the conclusion that as from our next check in we will be renaming wok to business, the reason for this is because we don’t see it as work, we see it as business.
- Complete Goals as set out in the business plan: No movement on this frontier as yet.
- Have at least 5 new users signing up a day: No movement here yet
- Launch Add Deal Babies.com: This week we’re pleased to say that Add Deal Babies.com will be going live on its very own VPS Server in the coming couple of weeks – we will be spending this week developing Add Deal Babies.com further.
- Make arrangements for cards to be printed: Nothing new here
- Develop Add Deal.TV: This will be developed towards the middle of February and all being well the website will be launched in Mid-March.
- Set Up Business Bank Accounts: No movement on this frontier as yet
- Offer Add Deal for free: No movement on this frontier as yet
- Start work on Add Deal CP: We have placed a holding page online for the Add Deal CP and we’re hoping the new website should be complete by the end of February 2012.
- Get Add Deal into 10 online stores: No movement on this frontier as yet – preperations are being made to create a information pack as well as some new promotional material – to make us more appealing.
- Start and Complete Social Media Strategy: This week we will see completion of the Social Medial strategy and hopefully that strategy being implemented.
- Build Recognition of the Brand: This week has seen a lot of exciting new developments including more domain names being purchased for the security of the Add Deal brand, the following domain name shave been purchased, adddeal.net, adddeal.org, adddeal.info and of course adddeal.eu.
Exercising
No movement on the exercising frontier, unless of course you count walking round Vospers Ford looking at new cars and then walking to Comet and looking round Comet looking at Washing Machines.
Autobiography
No movement on our autobiography frontier we will be spending sometime on this, over the next couple of days.
Open University
Interesting couple of developments on the OU frontier, a few days ago we were given our username and password information needed to gain access to the Student Home page. When we logged in we discovered that all of our OU credits were still in tact, at present we have 200 credits in and we need another 160 credits to get ourselves a complete degree.
So what are we studying, well we decided we would spend sometime studying BSc Computing and Psychology, as a second subject. We have an interest in Psychology and it will be certainly be interesting to see how the brain works in a scientific way. We have put ourselves forward for the following modules: DSE141: Discovering Psychology and MU123 Discovering Mathematics – so we’re certainly on a voyage of discovery.
This week we’re looking to get our financial support forms completed before our Discovering Psychology module starts in May time.
Other
E-mail: This week has seen our inbox folder become very well organised with all e-mails being filed into the correct folders. All in all the e-mail inbox is looking pretty tidy.
Music A few more new tracks have been purchased this week including: Wiz Khalifa, Black and Yellow, Iggy Pop, Wild Child, Mental as Anything, Live it Up, Love in this Club, Usher, More, Usher, we’re quite impressed with our music library over the next couple of weeks we will be expanding this further towards our 200 goal.
At present we have: 106/200 songs on our laptop.
Films: This week has been an excellent week for some film watching. After ordering the car and washing machine on Saturday we came home via Block Busters and rented out, Apollo 18, Horrible Bosses, Super 8 and Hanna. We have watched the first 3 of these and we have to say that so far these 3 films have not failed to disappoint.
Looking forward to watching the concluding part of Super 8 as well as Hanna.

All of this week has been very positive, however we have had some slightly sad and upsetting news, our business advisor that has been advising us since 2009 has sadly passed away. We would like to offer our sincerest regards to his family.
As always please ensure you check out our dedicated ROW80 category and of course our initial goals set at the start of this process. If you like why not checkout the months review.
