Add Deal FAQ Page Updated

Shown on this page are some of the most commonly asked questions that we get sent to our e-mail:

What is Add Deal?

Add Deal is a new loyalty card that can be used by people based in the Torbay area.  We have a view to expand this over the coming few months to tie in with other loyalty cards, business projects and business improvement districts.

What is Add Deal Babies

Add Deal Babies is part of the same brand and business.  The focus of Add Deal Babies is based around the concept of social networking and providing a place where expectant parents, parents with tots and parents can connect and share local deals.  There is also an Android application that can be used to scan and share deals directly onto Facebook and the actual Add Deal Babies website.

Add Deal Babies is not a loyalty card.

I’ve heard of Boost what is Boost??

Boost is a new and exciting project that Add Deal is working on.  Add Deals primary aim is to get people back into the high street and to improve the overall local town, city or county’s business prospects.  Boost is starting out in Torbay and is often on TwitterFacebook and our blog.

How do I get involved in Add Deal?? Boost?

Getting involved in Add Deal is simple, e-mailing us with a couple of questions and we’ll arrange a representative to come and speak to you at your premises or an appointment can be made to meet somewhere entirely neutral, if you prefer.

When you join Add Deal you immediately become a member of the Boost process and as such you will immediately be part of something special and local to your county.

What’s the fees?

Fees are a common question and all we can really say here is please e-mail us for further details.

Is Add Deal owner by a local council, commercial body or a limited company?

No, Add Deal is a privately owned business with a simple straight forward legal structure.  We’ve cut out the red tape that halts so many projects and can just get on with the actual launch of the scheme and answer questions directly.

I’m looking for work, can I get a job?

Unfortunately, we’re not in any position to take on members of staff at present.  However, we often do have a need for leaflet distributors and designers, so if your a student of a teenager over the age of 15 and want to help us, then please e-mail us on info@adddeal.com.

I don’t understand, how does Add Deal Work??

Ok Add Deal is a pretty simple process where both businesses and customers win a certain degree of points.  All of this information is explained in the welcome pack that we send out to you when you enquire about the scheme.

I’m not a local business can I join Add Deal?

Yes, Add Deal, although based in Torbay will happily welcome new businesses from other parts of the UK.  You can simply e-mail our head office and we’ll send you a information pack.

I’m a customer, a tourist, how do I get a loyalty card?

That’s simple, e-mail us and we’ll send one directly in the post to you… once received we will in turn activate your card and you will be able to use it at a wide range of different stores.

If your a tourist we actually have the official Add Deal Tourist loyalty card that is just perfect if your going to a local town in the UK and want to earn some points whilst you shop.

Further questions are always welcome and please e-mail these to us on info@adddeal.com

Add Deals Trees

Now this is certainly something very different from our normal posts here at Add Deal, usually we blog about deals or the latest developments in terms of how we’re getting on with the posters, leaflets, terminals and goodness knows what else.  However, this week we’re spending a bit of time focusing on being a very green business.

Therefore, we have been giving some thought to our carbon footprint, we already make use of a very green website hosting provider, our plastic loyalty cards are eco-friendly, we’ve even signed up to the Green Achiever scheme and we even recycle the ink cartridges in our printers, so what more is there we can do?

Well we think there is a lot more that we can do, and we know how we’re going to do it.  Add Deal has contacted a company that handles tree sponsorship, or essentially plants trees for us.  Our goal is to use these trees as a way of us giving something back to the earth for taking some of those all important natural resources, it also helps with Carbon Offsetting.

We’re a small business, and we’re growing with time.  Therefore, we are making the pledge, over the next 5 years to plant 100 trees to assist with offsetting our impact on the overall environment.

Once complete we will then be looking at the situation and will consider planting or sponsoring more.

If you want to know more about our very Green company plan, check out ourenvironmental policy for further details.

Dietry/Exercise

Well this week has been a rather mixed week.  The diet is remaining as it is for this week as well.. our body has had a kind of rebellenant week this week especially towards our fibre foods.  Last week we added sultanas to the mix… so at the moment our current fibre foods stands as follows:

  1. Weetabix
  2. Bananas
  3. Grapes
  4. Sultanas
  5. Orange Juice
  6. Apples
  7. Salads
This week we won’t be adding any new foods to the list, as we want to give our body a bit of a break.  We are however, having huge cravings for Fish foods.. so the Tuna tins are certainly getting a kick in… next week we want to bring in the concept of Brown Bread instead of white for our lunch time.
This week however, we’ll be hitting the Wii Fit hard… :D

Add Deal Babies goes live [BETA]

The first version of Add Deal Babies has been launched onto the web with the next 6 weeks being solely focused on the concept of ensuring bugs and errors are all fixed in preparation for the official release of the website.  The website provides a new and exclusive place for expectant parents, parents with tots and parents to connect and share local deals in their area.

The website has been in production for over 6 months and we have a wide range of elements to add to the website.  However some of the main functionality of the website includes:

  • Profile
  • Profile Pics
  • Bio
  • Photo Albums
  • Share deals within your local area directly on the deal feed with all of those in that location
  • Get professional advice on the website for FREE
  • FREE to use

The website also includes the ability to delete your account at the click of just one button.  The website has also been developed to integrate our very own Add Deal Babies newsletter which all users can sign up for by visiting the appropriate page.

Advertising

The website also has an entire host of advertising opportunities available.  These are currently available for FREE whilst we continue to build traffic onto the website.

Overall with this website being in BETA mode this does mean that there could be some errors on the website.  Due to this we are currently testing the website in BETA mode and therefore all of our users are being accessed to report any kind of errors directly to the administrator of the website.

All bugs reported will be looked into and a full repair will be carried out each week.  Please e-mail and report all bugs directly to babies [at] adddeal [dot] com

Introducing #BoostTorbay

As we’re sure most of you would have seen, today the Government announced that the UK had sank back into a recession.  A lot of us will be saying well we never really came out of one and the figures that brought us out of a recession were basically helped by the huge Christmas rush.

Well anyway, we’ve had the bad news and now let’s get down to some great news.  Here at Add Deal one of our main focuses is to ensure people get out of their houses and into the high street, or their local town/city.  Our objective isn’t just to provide a loyalty card to every customer or a card reader to every business.

Our objective is this, to help boost the counties local economy through getting businesses to join us in a county-wide challenge.  Our first stop in this area is Torbay, covering (Torquay, Paignton and Brixham).  We are even going as far as creating our very own hash tag for other businesses to use on Twitter.

#BoostTorbay is all what you need to remember when tweeting about a product that you have purchased from a business in anyone of the 3 towns above.  Let’s start an online epidemic let’s ensure we give the high street the #BoostTorbay effect.

ROW80 Meetings & Developments

Another few days have gone and another few days where it feels that almost nothing has been done on the Add Deal project in terms of our  goals.  However, we need to think more constructive and be a lot more mindful of our developments on the overall Add Deal project.

The past few days have been spent taking meetings, phone calls, replying to e-mails and completing works to the overall Add Deal Babies website.  We’ve had an excellent week but very little has gone on in terms of developing the overall website for Add Deal or even the back end solution that will be the main system in all of this.

So what has gone on… well all sorts and the only way we’re really going to find out is to go through our goals for this weeks check in:

As always you can visit the official ROW80 category which contains all of the check ins to date as well as a copy of our initial goals when we started out on the 2nd round of ROW80.

Sign up to our newsletter as well – for more details and insights.

Add Deal Babies App – Coming Soon

One of the main ambitions of Add Deal Babies is to provide a more shared and connected network.  The concept, therefore, is to design and develop a new and exclusive mobile app for those who use the Android operating system.  The objective of course is to provide you with the ability to scan QR codes with the latest deals and offers in your local area and then to share these deals with your friends.

The mobile app doesn’t just share the information with Facebook and Twitter, that’s just too obvious, our app also communicates with our website so that the deal you see in the shop goes straight onto the website and shares this deal with all of the other people in your local area and causes them to approach the business for that same offer.

The Add Deal Babies app is being put into production at the end of this week and we will be keeping you all up to date on the latest developments with this application.

iPhone Development??

Of course we haven’t forgotten about our users who make use of Apple’s most popular mobile phone device, the iPhone.  We will also be making allowances for the development of an iPhone application in the coming months.  However, our primary aim to begin with is to get people using the application through Android.

Further applications will also be planned for the future and we also intend to have both Facebook and Twitter integration with our apps.
