As promised we are going to do an evaluation, a sort of summary of how we got on with this being our first round and our first ever attempt at anything like this.
So here goes,
ROW80 in Numbers:
- 80 Days have passed
- 105 Blog Posts Published
- 146 New Music files downloaded from iTunes
- 5 New WordPress Followers
- Over 100 new comments from followers, readers and the like
- 23,275 Words Written (Yes we really did add them all up, and it doesn’t include this post)
Blogging
Throughout this entire process, which has been an exceedingly enjoyable one, we have done all we can to ensure that our blog posts are interesting, informative and provide you all with a clear understanding as to what we are trying to achieve both in business and personal life.
Over the course of this round, there have been blog posts filled with almost everything and anything, and then there are posts that are filled with nothing. Blogging is certainly something we enjoy doing, and at the start of the round we were looking to write at least 5 a week.
Some weeks we found ourselves doing a lot more and so we pushed this to 10. How did we do?? Well not too badly, we usually hit the 10 target, with occasions where no posts were published or just a couple but most of the time the full 10 were there when they were meant to be.
Business
You may remember this used to be called work, we renamed it to business as that is exactly what we are working on. We’re looking to launch a new business using the ROW80 check ins to mark and evaluate our progress.
With all things considered we haven’t done too badly, cards are being printed, business cards are being printed, we have a meeting with a town centres company and we’re making great progress on our business plan, websites and design concepts.
There is still a lot more to do and we’re a little bit disappointed that we didn’t get round to completing the self employment registration or the application for bank accounts… however, we’re confident this will all happen in due course.
We have seen some pretty amazing things, a 6ft by 4 life-size Add Deal man, an excellent display of colours for our t-shirts, all rounded off with an excellent design on our loyalty and reward card.
Branding will always be a focal point for us and we will continue to work on the branding side of Add Deal until such time as the business is ready to withstand the onslaught of the customer.
Open University
Not one of our original goals, however, we decided we wanted a change of pace. Of course there is the business side of things, but we want to keep it separate. Therefore joining the OU was a great idea.
We have registered our interest to study BSc Computing and Psychology. We have fallen behind a little and as such haven’t done too well here. However, this is all about evaluating and changing things for the better… the OU side of things is certainly something we will be changing and getting done.
Exercising
We’re always conscious of our weight… we’re a pretty big chap… around 6ft 4 and probably got a few more pounds than we should have. ROW80 has seen us try the Wii Fit and also seen us join a karate lesson..
Is it enough?? Well who knows… we’re joining Karate at the end of the month and we aim to achieve a more toned body by the end of the year..so only time will tell on this goal.
Autobiography
Again not one of our original goals. We decided it would be a good idea to put online a little bit about us. Who we are, what we do, what we’ve experienced etc. It is a shame we haven’t been able to keep on top of this… but we will look at it in the very near future.
So how did we get on here.. well we would say not too well.. need to do more on this front in the next round.
Other
We’re not going to bore you too much, we did excellently on all of our other goals, and we’re quite pleased with this… they will certainly be a feature in round 2.
So Will you do it again?
Yes, we will be back in a couple of weeks time, hopefully with a new set of goals and a new overall objective.
